The Green Lanes Orchestra Presents a cover of Pavement's seminal hit Carrot Rope
I think Lewy must have stolen my copy of Terror Twilight at some point because somehow he really got into Pavement and I can’t find my CD. Well, I’m glad he did.
Carrot Rope is an important track because Lewy and his friends would sing it all the time when they were teenagers and drunk or in their 30s and drunk..
..And this hot new version of the song has been recorded in the same spirit. Friends coming together (and Lewy has always been blessed with the greatest group of friends you could hope to have), singing a little off key perhaps but singing, celebrating and being together even when it seems impossible.
Like a rainstorm, you've got to do what you want and say it.
Tom Baker
All proceeds will go to St Joseph’s Hospice in Hackney, London.
